In Persepolis, one thing that I noticed that is similar to some of the other books that I have read is that it has a deeper meaning than what the words are. If you're able to look at the bigger picture and read in between the lines, the book has a much bigger meaning by tying to hit your emotions. The biggest difference although is the fact that this is all true, being based on the German nazis. I really like the fact that that the reading is going by quick and within one week I am already half way through the book.

I do not know much of anything about graphic novels other than the fact that they have pictures that go along with the text. Again I do not know much about the different types of books because I do not read that much, if it were not for school I would not read very much unless I as reading for the fact of learning more about a topic. One thing that I would like to know is why do not many people read graphic novels? when I think of a graphic novel, I think of a kids book and it makes me feel like a child againFor this semester I am going to use the given class time, and depending on how much
I can get done during class will determine the amount of time I will have to read on Sunday. If I have to work on Sunday, instead of going to the gym in the morning I could get in my reading for the week or go to the gym in the morning because they close at the same time the Pie Company does and go home to do homework instead of going over to a friends house. This semester I need to take control of my grades instead of them letting take control of me. This senior incentive is really helping push me because i'm sure, just as everyone else, I do not want to take my exams and then i would also get out May 19 instead of May 26. That one week can allow me to do whatever i want before i go and try to find a "regular job." To stay focused I am setting a goal of getting all A's this semester to push myself. Semester one did not go well for me, I did not do near enough reading and fell short of my goal every week. Instead of pushing myself I tried to cut down the expectation and in the end I put myself in a bad situation and ended up doing very poorly on the final project which brought my grade down. Last semester i would joke around with my friends for the reading time that was given to us rather than sitting down and reading my book. Another thing is that I also almost never read outside of class which is why I fell short of my reading goal every week. |
